Frequently Asked Questions
Repairs & Restorations
Repairs and full restorations on any Judith Bright piece, regardless of when you bought it. Common work includes clasp replacements, chain repairs, wire wrapping, re-stringing, jump ring fixes, cleaning and polishing. If you’re not sure whether something can be fixed, send a photo and we’ll let you know.
Repair: small, quick work- a loose jump ring, a broken wire attachment, a clasp that’s lost its spring, a broken chain.
Restoration: bigger work- rings and cuffs that needs to be rebuilt at the bench. More time, more materials.
We’ll always tell you which category your piece falls into when you bring or mail it in.
Yes, most do. Materials and bench time have a real cost.
The good news: our pricing is fair, based on the actual work and materials your piece needs. We always send an estimate before we begin, so you'll never be billed for anything you didn't approve first.
1. In person. Bring your piece into the studio anytime. We’ll take a look and consult with the artisans and send you a quote within 2 business days via email or text.
2. By mail. Send it to P.O. Box 120219 Nashville, TN 37212. We recommend a tracked, insured shipping method. Please note that Judith Bright is not liable for damage in transit, so package your jewelry safely — a padded envelope or small box with bubble wrap works well. Once we receive your piece, we'll email a quote within 5 business days.
Most repairs are completed within a week. Restorations vary depending on the work needed and our current queue. We’ll give you a clear timeline along with your quote.
We don’t judge. Life happens, and we want your jewelry to keep living. We’ll do our best to bring any piece back to its best self, regardless of how it got that way.
The honest answer: pieces that have been through serious wear- frequent water exposure, chemical damage due to beauty products, perfumes, and sunscreen- sometimes need more involved work or even replacement, which we’ll explain in the quote.
Yes. If you bought a Judith Bright piece five, ten, or twenty years ago, send it home. We’ve been making jewelry the same way the over 20 years, and our artisans know how to bring our older pieces back to life.
It’s rare, but it happens. If a piece is beyond restoration, we’ll let you know and offer the option to redesign using the original materials when possible.
Every piece we repair is checked and finished by an artisan before it leaves the studio. If something we repaired comes loose again within 90 days, we’ll re-do the work at no charge.
