Lapis brings a saturated blue that reads almost like ink, with occasional mineral sparkle adding texture. Each piece of jewelry is handmade in Nashville, Tennessee, to let its graphic color lead.

Family: A rock made of several minerals: lazurite brings the blue, calcite the white, and pyrite the golden flecks.
Wear: 5–6 on the Mohs scale; softer than quartz. Clean gently with warm soapy water and avoid solvents.
A little history: Lapis lazuli was processed into ultramarine, the costly blue pigment prized in historic European painting.
