Does CMA Fashion Inspire Your Holiday Party Looks?

Monday, November 7th, 2011

It’s that glamorous time of year again in Nashville. Red carpets are rolled out and the stars are shining, preferably by some JB bling. Everyone looks to the fashion of the CMA Awards Red Carpet to inspire their festive attire for the hottest holiday parties this season. So this Wednesday, when you see what your favorite country crooners are wearing and you start thinking about the upcoming events on your social calendar, let us help you accessorize that evening wear! Here is a little Star Style Map to guide you to the right jewels for every gown…

Hillary Scott looked radiant at last year’s award show in a bold, red J Mendel gown with a fitted bodice and ruffled neckline. If you have a gown with such an elaborate detail, you dont want to take away from the neckline. Keep the earrings simple like our Rock Drop Flat Oval Earrings and draw attention to your wrists with something like this XSmall Dominique Bracelet in Garnet.

Carrie Underwood walked the red carpet in a metallic Talbot Runhof gown. A fun and frilly party dress like this one demands attention when you walk into the room. Accessorize with something just as demanding of attention, like one of our Rockstar Rings! (14k Gold-Filled and Ametrine stone shown above) Your instinct might be to wear a choker length necklace with a strapless gown, but I promise a giant cocktail rind and a cuff on the opposite wrist, like a 7 Stone Lots o Rocks Cuff, is much more surprising and alluring at the same time.

When the attention is on your back, like Sara Evans in this Twenty8Twelve mini, then all you need is an eye catching dazzler dangling from your ears like these Large Dominique Pendant Earrings in Black Spinel. If a backless holiday frock is on your mind, imagine these earrings, as you look over your shoulder, gaining favor from all the fellas in the room!

Miranda Lambert looked gorgeous in this Sherri Hill gown, but if you are interested in an off the shoulder dress for a more conservative event, perhaps a holiday party for work,  there are ways to down-play the sexiness. One way to not appear as “naked” is to break up the amount of exposed skin with a statement necklace. The more simple the fabric and cut of the gown, the more elaborate the design of the necklace you can play with. This Elean Graduated Stone Necklace will enhance the elegance of an off the shoulder dress without drawing too much attention to the area.

We can’t wait to see what jewels glisten at this year’s show! And if you are still unsure how to accessorize your holiday party attire, just stop by the studio for additional styling tips!

Peak My Pinterest

Hi friends!! Did you heed my advice from my last blog? Cause I did!

I’m a woman of my word! Not just spittin game over here! Blue pants, gold, and carnelian!
So Pinterest. Addicted yet? Cause I am. Even though it’s 80 degrees here in Nashville, I’m still getting amped up for fall fashion. As a semi-New Yorker (supposedly it takes 10 years of living in NY to get the label so since I did 5, I call myself a semi), I’m all about some blazers, scarves, coats, boots, the works. All the looks below were on the main page of my pinterest, pinned by people I follow. These are some easy looks to pull off and easy to accessorize. And with multiple layers, you will only need to throw on a few bold pieces.
Take exhibit A…

Add a Gold Lasso, a Mini rocks lay chain, 3 strand cool chain and/or the Marquee. Click any image to enlarge.

Try the Organic cluster with carnelian stones or nest posts! We now have them in Petite rocks and Raj rocks!

Go with one of our hand hammered oval bracelets. I’m wearing one today with my sandalwood, 7 stone cuff, and jade from Vietnam! For the hoops, try Sterling Silver or 14k Gold Filled by themselves or with some little rocks. Check out some rockless earrings! Click any image to enlarge.

ROCK IT! Big statement rings!!

Choke it! Gold bangles will kill with beige.

Drop Necklace is a must. Try something from the Dominique collection, Elean collection, or circle drop. Add another pop piece with a rockstar ring.

Stack up your finger with hand hammered rings. Stack up your arm with some cuffs!

ll these ideas are easy to replicate. I just took a lap around the store and shot a few things in instagram! Voici! Outfits!
Til next time!

The Possible Cool

Thursday, September 15th, 2011

Hey fans! This is the newest JB girl and recent Manhattan transplant, Rachel, comin at ya! I’m going to post a couple times a month to give you the low down on new trends and how to wear it with your JB jewels. No matter your personal price point, style, or shopping habits, this will be applicable for all y’alls!! <—I’m getting really Nashvillian.

Some of the big dogs went drab this fall (neutral and black? predictable.) But I’m stoked at the brands that decided to organically transfer some of the bold colors of the summer over to autumn (think hot pink). For those who bleed orange or love UK, this is your season! The two colors that have really caught my eye are the bold orange and blue. Check out how they popped on the Fall Ready to Wear runway earlier this year.

Alice + Olivia
Banana Republic

Carolina Herrera

Pringle of Scotland
Thakoon

Now don’t go all matchy matchy on me. Orange would be greatly complimented with some Moss Aquamarine, London Blue Topaz, or White Onyx.

This blue is so sophisticated, in both a more delicate fabric or heavier wool, a Black Spinel would look KILLLERRRR. For a pop of color, mix in some Carnelian. And to make any outfit look like a power move, Pyrite is your stone.

And one last look, I couldn’t leave out this adorbs little girl. j.crew is on our team, pairing up the orange juice with great bangles, stacked right up that arm.  Simple dress, bangin (literally) accessories. Easy cool.

Stay tuned, party people, there’s more to come. I am new in town and would love to hear what local designers I should highlight or anything you would like to see here. Hit me up anytime: rachelc@judithbright.com. Until next time!!
