The Importance of Lightweight Metals to your Ears

Brigitte Earrings

Here at Judith Bright we take every consideration to ensure that our jewelry is the finest of quality for you. That especially includes the weight of our metals. Our earrings are made of sterling silver and 14k gold-filled and are the lightest-weight earrings around!  We are becoming known for that fact and the word is definitely spreading….

A common concern our customers have shopping for earrings is elongated earlobes. This is caused by several things, like wearing earrings that are too heavy for the delicate skin tissue surrounding your piercing or simply the fact that we lose elasticity in our skin, even in our earlobes as we age. Elongated earlobes make it difficult  to find stud earrings that will sit right on the ear and not droop. Not to mention the unattractive look

Extra Large Hoops

of an earring looking as though it’s about to fall through your ear.  We’ve seen women in our office who have visited plastic surgeons who have stitched their ears back up and re-pierced them.  The results are excellent and our clients have been very pleased.  Some women resort to Restalyne (yes the stuff used for lip augmentation) injections to plump up and strengthen their earlobes. These are more extreme corrective measures that aren’t  necessary with so many of our lightweight styles. I would honestly recommend trying to give your ears a bit of a jewelry vacation from heavy metals all together and make the switch to the lighter side. In time, you will see a huge difference in the appearance of your earlobe and the size of your piercing.  Our heaviest design is the Brigitte, shown to the left, and only weights 1.2 grams!!! If studs are more your style, our Nest Posts only weigh 4.09 grams!!

With lighter jewelry, you can give your ears a breather and still wear your favorite styles! Or if you want to take a break from piercings all together, we can convert many of our styles into clip-on versions. Definitely try to give your skin a chance to heal itself naturally. And if you have yet to experience the troubles of elongated earlobes,  then the most important thing is to be preventative. You dont have to sacrifice your ears for great style. Jewelry is supposed to accent your natural beauty, not damage it! So give your ears a gift and take a look through our wide variety of lightweight designs.

Did you know that if you take any number between 1 and 9 and multiply them by 9 the sum of the two numbers will always be 9. (ex: 7×9=63; 6+3=9) Go ahead and teach your young ones this cool math trick, hopefully it will get them more interested in how numbers work.

Did you know that your body is a perfect measuring stick! Your height is the same as your arm span & your leg span. Your feet are the same length of your forearm and in most cases you can use your neck as a tool to see if a pair of pants or a skirt will fit around your hips if you don’t have time to try it on.  Just hold the article up, fold it in half, wrap the waistband around your neck, if the ends touch its a perfect fit, if they overlap they’re too big, and if they don’t touch they are too small. Its a great shopping tip that I use whenever there is a ridiculous line for the fitting rooms.

Did you know that changing the direction of your ceiling fan can help cut heating & cooling costs?

During the summer, it needs to rotate counterclockwise or left and in the winter it needs to rotate clockwise or right. In the winter, it should push the warm air down, whereas in the summer, it pulls the air up and forces the warm air away and down the sides of the room. The switch should be between the fan blades and the lights. Test out the new direction and see if next months bill is just a little bit easier on your wallet.

Did you know that girls have more tastebuds than boys?

That means there are more female supertasters (like myself) than male supertasters.

If you have a picky child it might not just be him or her not wanting to eat. They could be whats called a SUPERTASTER.

Watch this video from Yale University about supertasting to determine if your child is a supertaster or just stubborn!

Did you know…

That those orange Ladybug looking insects aren’t actually the Ladybugs everyone grew up catching in their backyard. They are actually Asian Ladybugs that were brought here to kill a certain obtrusive insect and once they did their job they themselves became intrusive.

Be careful too, they have been known to bite… and they stink!

Did you know that the easiest way to untangle a knotted necklace or bracelet is to put it in some corn starch?  Just get it all up in there and the knot will come right out.

Now lets all go raid those jewelry boxes of ours, bring some old tangled pieces out and bring them back to life!

Some may need cleaning so come on down and purchase yourself a polishing cloth to keep all jewelry nice and sparkly!

By feeding hens certain dyes they can be made to lay eggs with multicolored yolks.

Now that’s a new approach to making eggs look more appetizing to kids.

Now lets see how long it takes for America to make them available in stores.

That it’s possible to lead a cow upstairs, but not downstairs.

So that means if you are in need of getting your cow outside make sure you have a ramp because there is no way you will be able to get them to go down the stairs!
