Our fans always compliment us on how helpful, friendly, fun, perhaps sometimes a bit silly and kooky, our staff is when they are greeted at our door. We pride ourselves on how amazing our team is and how much fun we have at our jobs. That joy seems to be infectious and makes our store a great environment to work in and shop in. When a new JB gal joins our family, we like to let you know about it.
Meet our newest addition Anna, a junior at Harpeth Hall. Today is her first day and she is already rocking it! While she takes a break from learning the ropes and all the gems, we are going to play a game, creatively titled, “Get To Know Anna!”
Why did you want to work at Judith Bright ? To gain experience in retail and learn about the jewelry business.
What do you want to do when you grow up? Not sure yet. I know I want to do something in retail. I like what my mom does. She works in commercial real estate.
What’s your favorite piece of jewelry? My camp ring. I went to Camp Waldemar in Texas for 8 years and they gave me a James Avery gold disk, which I had made into a ring with a diamond in it.
What’s your favorite piece of Judith Bright jewelry? I love the Sandalwood Bracelets. My mom has a bunch of them and I always steal them from her and wear them. My favorite gemstone is Aquamarine.
Tell us about some of the activities and organization you are involved in. I run Cross Country. I volunteer at Julia Green tutoring. I also volunteer at Love At First Sight pet adoption. I’m in a club called Operation Smile. We raise awareness for the organization that helps treat facial deformities such as cleft lips and palates all around the world. I was born with a cleft lip so this organization is particularly important to me.
With all those activities you are involved in, you must be thinking about college… I’ve started to look around at some Texas schools as well as LSU and Ole Miss.
Question from Jenny, “What’s with those Lamas?” For my school’s winterim I went to Peru for three weeks with my Spanish teacher and other Spanish students. I stayed with a family in Lima and worked with kids at a local school teaching them English. Then we went to Cusco, near Maccu Pichu, where Lamas roamed freely everywhere. You can also get great deals bargaining in their markets.
What are you working on now? Prom is coming up and I’m on the committee to help organize it.
Being at an all girl’s private school, how do you meet a Prom date? I love going to an all girls school. You can just roll out of bed and go to class. You don’t have to impress anyone and you are more comfortable. You can just focus on school, which is why you are there anyways. We usually just end up taking our guy friends to Prom anyways. Less drama, more fun.
What jewelry will you be wearing to Prom this year? I need to find a dress first, but Judith Bright for sure!
